ACTNews, BOGOR
AND CIANJUR — The month of Ramadan is a month of happiness for Muslims.
This happiness was also felt by Quran teachers in several regions in Indonesia
who received Ramadan Food Packages from generous donors through Aksi Cepat Tanggap
(ACT).
One of the
teachers who received the food packages was Ustaz Said Hudri, a Quran teacher
at the At-Taqwa Islamic Study Circle in Poncol Village, Gunung Putri, Bogor.
The declining health condition did not dampen Ustaz Said's da'wah activities in
the community.
Mahatir from the
team of ACT East Bogor said Ustaz Said suffered from a nervous disease that
makes it difficult for him to move his limbs. He now uses a cane to walk.
"Even so, he
consistently teaches children and adults in the Islamic study circle for
free," he explained, Thursday (4/28/2022).
To fulfill his
daily needs, Ustaz Said sells perfumes near a mosque not far from his house. His
income is barely enough to pay for rent and daily needs. "Despite the many
obstacles he has encountered, his spirit must be appreciated," said
Mahatir.
Besides Ustaz
Said, Ramadan gifts were also given to 10 other Quran teachers at Al-Furqon
Islamic Boarding School, Gunung Putri, Bogor. "The preachers thanked the
benefactors for their attention," Mahatir concluded.
In Cianjur, the
Ramadan Food Packages were delivered to honorary teachers at SMPIT Baitul
Anshor and SMP PGRI Cibeureum, Wednesday (4/27/2022). A total of 16 Ramadan
food packages were given directly to honorary teachers who teach consistently
even though their salary is IDR 700 thousand for each month.
One of them was
Helliana, an honorary teacher at SMPIT Baitul Anshor. For 8 years, she has been
teaching for IDR 700,000 a month. For an additional income, this mother of 5
children opened a small shop in her house.[]
