Receiving HFT Meal Package Before Iftar, Nurmah: Thank you, I Don’t Need to Buy Bakwan Today

“Alhamdulillah. I usually have my iftar only with lontong, it was also a gift from someone else. If my nephew spares me some money, I will use it to buy bakwan at the side road shop,” said Nurmah.

ACTNews, EAST JAKARTA – Nurmah’s steps were wobbly, she was about to buy bakwan for her iftar meal at a shop on the side road in East Jakarta, Rawa Bunga. Nurmah is 72 years old. This grandma who was born in Bandung was one of the beneficiaries of food package assistance by Humanity Food Truck Aksi Cepat Tanggap on Thursday (04/27/2021) in Rawa Bunga, Jatinegara, East Jakarta.

Alhamdulillah.  I usually have my iftar with lontong, it was also a gift from someone else. If my nephew spares me some money, I will use it to buy bakwan at the side road shop,” said Nurmah.

That noon, Nurmah canceled her plan to buy bakwan and immediately went back to her house while bringing a meal package from Humanity Food Truck. She was so happy, since finally she could have an iftar with other food aside from lontong.

Nurmah admitted that it has been a while since the last time she ate a meal as tasty as the one from Humanity Food Truck. “The last time I ate delicious food was when my neighbor had a party. That time I was able to eat chicken. Other than that, I only eat anything given by my nephew or my neighbors. My nephew and my surrounding neighbors are also underprivileged people, so we are all rarely able to eat delicious food,” said Nurmah.

Nurmah no longer has a job. She also doesn’t have children, hence to fulfill her daily needs she relies on her nephew or her neighbors. Fortunately, she lives in her late parents’ house so she doesn’t have to pay for rent.

“Once again, Thank you so much, and Alhamdulillah,” she said. She hopes for the meal distribution by Humanity Food Truck to keep go on so that more underprivileged people can enjoy delicious and nutritious meals for iftar in Ramadan.[]
