ACTNews, GAZA – Two grand waqf projects from Generous Benefactors through Global Wakaf-ACT to Palestine continue to be accelerated. They are Lumbung Air Wakaf and Palestinian Waqf Houses. Both are waqf products that are endeavored to recover and prosper the Palestinians in Gaza.

Lumbung Air Wakaf, which is constructed on 500 square meters of land in the east part of Jabalia, North Gaza, has reached 60 percent of its construction. The foundation of the two floors building is already standing upright. Currently, ACT Palestine team in Gaza is in the process of working on the interior of the building. It is estimated that the  Lumbung Air Wakaf (Waqf Water Warehouse) will be completed within three months.

“The  Lumbung Air Wakaf can produce up to 100 thousand liters of water every day. The water will also be packaged into 1,000 bottles of mineral water every day. In addition, the  Lumbung Air Wakaf will also be a place to refill Humanity Water Tanks that will travel around Gaza to distribute clean water to the Gazans’ houses," said Said Mukaffiy from ACT's Global Humanity Response team, Monday (8/2/2021).

The construction of Palestinian Waqf Houses is also still in process. Mukaffiy says that the construction has entered the making of the basic foundation and building walls. It is estimated that these houses will be ready for occupancy by the Palestinians in the next few months.

“The Palestinian Waqf Houses are located in Jorn Al Nazalowa, Jabalia, North Gaza. The Waqf Houses will consist of several towers, each is 317 m2 wide. Every tower will have 20 flats. Each unit will consist of one master bedroom, one children's room, one living room, one restroom, and a kitchen with a dining room," said Mukaffiy. On behalf of the beneficiaries, Mukaffiy thanked Indonesian waqif who have donated their wealth to Palestinian brothers and sisters.[]
