ACTNews, PANDEGLANG - A total of 300 kilograms of rice were delivered to students and administrators of the Abuya Muhtadi’s Mudzakarah Islamic Boarding School in Tanagara Village, Cadasari District, Pandeglang, Friday (1/15/2021). The pesantren, which is managed by Kyai Muhtadi, teaches students who memorize the Quran. Most of the students come from underprivileged families, and some are orphans.
Global Wakaf - ACT Banten Branch Manager Ais Komarudin explained, in supporting the pesantren to educate future Quran memorizers, Global Wakaf - ACT Banten supports the fulfillment of the food needs of students and teachers through the Productive Food Waqf program. "Insha Allah, the support of the waqf donors will encourage the students," said Ais.
Kyai Muhtadi on behalf of the pesantren also prayed for Global Wakaf - ACT's steps to be more widespread, and that Global Wakaf will bring wider benefits. "Alhamdulillah, we are very grateful for this support. Insha Allah, the support from Global Wakaf - ACT will also boost the students’ spirit," said Kyai Muhtadi.
Since early January, around 4,500 kilograms of rice have been distributed by Global Wakaf to a number of Islamic boarding schools. The aid distribution was carried out in 12 Islamic boarding schools in five provinces. The Productive Food Waqf Program has benefitted 2,119 beneficiaries from underprivileged families in the second week of January.
