ACTNews, TANGERANG – At noon before the iftar time, Sri Lestari Budiarti received waqf rice assistance and three meal packages for her and her two children. Sri attended an Islamic class in At-Taqwa Mosque, Tangerang Regency, Saturday (5/1/2021).

Sri was one of the underprivileged residents in Pasir Barat Village, Jambe District. Now, she lives with her two children, each aged seven and eight. Sri’s husband had died three years ago due to cardiovascular disease.

Hopefully, the benefactors can be rewarded multiple times,” said Sri.

Sri explained that since her husband died, she had been living in deprivation. Before the pandemic, she used to sell snacks by consigning them to shops. However, since the pandemic outbreak, she no longer sells her snacks due to the decrease in buyers. Now, Sri only hoped for people’s help.

Sri’s children are also in need of financial aid for their school tuition. Sometimes, she couldn’t fulfill her children’s request to buy snacks since she no longer has money. She was sad but couldn’t do anything while hearing her children asking for money. Fortunately, her children understand her situation.

“There was a time when we were short of electricity for two days since I couldn’t afford to pay the bills, but we were patient," said Sri.

For now, Sri only hopes for her children to go to school and be successful in the future to improve their family's economy.[]
