ACTNews, SOUTH TANGERANG – Riyanto was very grateful for the assistance of Waqf Rice from ACT. Riyanto lives in Gunung Samin Street, Rempoa Village, East Ciputat District, South Tangerang City. Riyanto called ACT’s Ramadan Care Line some time ago. On Sunday (4/26/2021), he was selected as one of the beneficiaries.

Alhamdulillah, I got a package of free rice. It will help us to prepare our suhoor and iftar meals,” said Riyanto after receiving the Waqf Rice on Sunday. The waqf rice was immediately brought by Riyanto's wife to the kitchen to be cooked. The time for breaking the fast was less than an hour away.

Riyanto was very grateful because his family’s expenses have been reduced this week. It has been a year, Riyanto has no permanent job. At the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, He worked odd jobs with uncertain incomes. His previous job as a bookseller at a bazaar stopped because of the activity restrictions. In the past four months, he has been looking after the shop that his brother owns. The shop was built in front of his house measuring 7 by 3 meters.

In Ramadan, Riyanto’s family must live frugally. They seldom eat fancy food. When the evening call to prayer echoed, Riyanto’s family enjoyed the simple meal. Their supper and Waqf Rice complement their happiness.[]
