ACTNews, GAZA
STRIP – Some areas in Palestine are still dealing with the cold winter
temperatures next Ramadan. Although the peak of winter has passed last January, the low temperatures still linger, posing a threat to the poor families in
Gaza who live in inadequate housing.
To warm them this
Ramadan, Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) handed over assistance from generous donors
to the impoverished residents in the Gaza Strip on March 26 and 27. The winter
aid consists of foodstuff packages, winter clothing, and gas-fueled room
heaters that are more efficient and easier to use compared to the electric
ones.
Said Mukaffiy from
Global Humanity Network – Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) explained that this
assistance reached 3,000 beneficiaries across all Gazan governorates, including
Moasy Region in Rafah, Hamed Region and Naher Al-Barad in Khan Younis, Al-Zahra
and Al-Sabra in the Gaza City, and Johor Al-Deek in Middle Area.
“Winter has not
ended in Palestine. This Ramadan, millions of Palestinians are going to spend
this Ramadan in freezing cold. Also, they have to deal with military attacks,”
reported Said, Tuesday (3/29/2022).
The assistance
from the donors will be able to strengthen Palestinian families this Ramadan.
Said asks the community to continue assisting Palestinian families in need. []
