ACTNews, SAMARINDA – Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) and the Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia (MRI) East Kalimantan distributed 500 meal packages to flood victims in Griya Mukti Samarinda, Gelatik Samarinda, and Bengkuring Samarinda housing complexes.

The three neighborhoods were severely affected by the flood that hit Samarinda. It took a long time before the flood finally receded, causing these neighborhoods to be isolated. The flood victims spent four days without receiving any assistance.

"According to the residents, the water tends to ebb and flow, making them very anxious," said Head of MRI-ACT Balikpapan Dimas Bayu Prasetyo, Tuesday (9/7/2021).

To assist the flood survivors, ACT and MRI distributed meal packages, opened a humanitarian post and public kitchen.

It was still raining heavily in Samarinda on Tuesday (9/7/2021) evening, causing the flood to submerge the houses again. []
