ACTNews, WEST JAKARTA – With her grandmother and uncle, Yunita (11) has to live in an uninhabitable house in Bulak Teko, Kalidered, West Jakarta. Yunita’s mother had passed away while her father is currently in jail due to drug abuse.
The difficult situation doesn’t dampen Yunita’s spirit. She still firmly hopes to keep being able to go to school and achieve her dream of becoming an entrepreneur so that she can revive her family’s financial condition.
Siti Rahmah Miroziah from ACT West Jakarta team says that Yunita is a diligent student. Yunita aims to be an excellent student and able to keep going to school until the highest level so that she can reach her dream.
“Her neighbors admit that Yunita is a diligent and keen student. Apart from school, Yunita also receives tutoring and learns the Quran in the mosque,” said Miroziah, Monday (10/18/2021).
Miroziah added, to meet her daily needs, Yunita relies on her uncle who only works odd jobs. “In order to ease Yunita’s educational cost, Global Zakat-ACT provided a scholarship for Yunita,” Miroziah concluded.
