ACTNews, SEMARANG REGENCY — Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia (MRI) continued its action by carrying out Regular Food Alms (Serutan) program. This time, Serutan assisted informal workers on the roadside of Jalan Jendral Sudirman and Tingkir Bus Station, Salatiga City, Friday (10/8/2021).

Alhamdulillah, ACT-MRI Semarang Regency-Salatiga City has carried out free meals distribution for the fifth time,” said Head of MRI Semarang Regency, Elvan Ardi, Thursday (10/14/2021).

Elvan explained that volunteers went around every corner of Salatiga City. They were looking for informal workers who were still working until late at night.

Elvan added that many of those workers hadn’t got their income since early morning. Some of them had received it but could only cover their food need that day. Those workers don’t have a fixed amount of income.

“They who relentlessly and tirelessly work every day to meet their food needs on the roadside are including parking attendants, cleaning workers, scavengers, rickshaw drivers, coachmen around Salatiga City,” said Elvan.

Gratitude and prayers were delivered by those workers to the MRI team. They hope to be able to spread kindness wherever and whenever.

“Thank you to the donors who support this activity. Insha Allah, it will be carried out regularly every Friday,” concluded Elvan.[]
