SGI Beneficiaries in Banjar Motivated to Improve Their Students’ Education

A number of honorary teachers in Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan, received appreciation from Global Zakat – ACT in the form of financial allowance. Kasmiati and Abdul Khair, two of the beneficiaries felt motivated to better educate their students.

ACTNews, BANJAR REGENCY - Global Zakat-ACT South Kalimantan once again provided financial aid for underprivileged teachers in South Kalimantan, Wednesday (2/12). This financial aid was part of the Indonesian Teachers’ Friends (SGI) program which was launched on November 25, 2019.

Kasmiati (46), one of the teachers who the financial aid thanked Global Zakat - ACT for caring about them. She felt motivated to better educate her students. "Hopefully, it will be a blessing for all of us. Hopefully, this assistance can boost our enthusiasm and motivation in teaching and become a blessing and chance for charity for all of us," she said.

Abdul Khair (32) hoped that this assistance can continue every month. He was grateful because there were benefactors who pay attention to the welfare of the teachers. The assistance encouraged Abdul to continue advancing the education of his students. "Teaching is something that has become part of my life," he said.

There are eight underprivileged teachers in the Nurul Hidayah Islamic Boarding School, Lok Baintan Village, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan, who received financial allowance this February. The handover of the teachers’ allowance was done at the Nurul Hidayah Islamic Boarding School.

M. Budi Rahman from the Global Zakat Program - ACT South Kalimantan hopes that teachers can spread the spirit of kindness to their students. "We want these acts of kindness not to stop here, we hope this goodness can spread to everyone especially from teachers to students," he explained. []
