ACTNews, GAZA – The people of Indonesia continued to channel their generosity to the Palestinians in need. In August, several Gazan families receive basic supplies from Indonesian donors. The aid packages consisted of staple foods, clothing, blankets, carpets, and cleaning supplies.

Firdaus Guritno from Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT)'s Global Humanity Response explained that the beneficiaries were families living in Jabalia and Beit Hanoun in North Gaza. These areas are known to be inhabited by many underprivileged families who are severely affected by the Israeli blockade.

"This assistance is provided through the Sister Family Palestine Indonesia program through which Indonesian families provide assistance for Palestinian families. With this program, Palestinian families can live more prosperously," said Said, Wednesday (1/9/2021).

One of the beneficiary families was Hasan Athallah Alazazma's family. Hasan’s family lives in the Alaizba area of Beit Hanoun. He said his family was greatly helped by the generosity of the Indonesian people.

Hasan admitted that his income was too small and he couldn’t support his entire family. In addition, Hasan had a lung disease which makes him unable to work optimally to meet the needs of his wife and four children. At times he has to borrow money to buy food.

"Thank you ACT and donors for paying attention to us. We can live properly with this assistance," said Alazazma.[]
