ACTNews, PALEMBANG - In essence, qurbani is not only an act of piety. From a
social point of view, sacrificial animals distributed to the community also
becomes a means of da’wah. Every Eid
Al-Adha, a sense of brotherhood is strengthened during the qurbani and when
enjoying the meat together.
Strengthening
the sense of relationship and brotherhood was what Global Qurban – Aksi Cepat Tanggap
(ACT) aimed to do in EId Al-Adha 2019. In every place where the Qurbani Thanksgiving
took place, a sense of warmth and togetherness appeared, including in Ogan Baru
Village, Kertapati, Palembang. Hundreds of residents who were victims of a fire
disaster sat together to enjoy qurbani dishes. On that occasion, the chef community
in Palembang also took part in cooking the qurbani meat.
Ical, one of the
chefs who was present and involved in the process of cooking the qurbani meat
at the Qurbani Thanksgiving said he was happy to participate in such a good
program. This was his first experience as a professional chef cooking qurbani
meat for fire victims. "Thank you Global Qurban for inviting us to
contribute to this kindness movement," he said in August 2019.
At the Qurbani
Thanksgiving event, as much as 100 kilograms of meat was cooked by professional
chefs into rendang and pindang. The locals ate the dishes
together along with representatives from the local government, including Deputy
Mayor of Palembang Fitrianti Agustinda.
In Eid Al-Adha
in 2020, Global Qurban will also involve professional chefs who will cook
special dishes on Eid Al-Adha. On Thursday (7/30), the team of chefs who will
serve the best dish from Humanity Food Truck was on their way to tp Masamba. Special
qurbani dishes will be cooked for the flash flood survivors in Masamba. In
addition, a team of chefs from Humanity Central Kitchen in the Gadog Area,
Bogor will also be involved in cooking best dishes to be distributed to
underprivileged communities in the Greater Jakarta area.
Ryan Andriana,
Coordinator of the Humanity Food Truck, said that the distribution of delicious
qurbani dishes from the Humanity Food Truck and team shows Global Qurban – ACT’s
determination to support the victims of natural disasters even on holidays.
"The best chefs that Global Sacrifice - ACT sent will serve best qurbani
dishes from the generosity of the people that have been distributed to us. The
happiness of the beneficiaries is inseparable from the generosity and
participation of the community," he explained, Thursday (7/30). []
