ACTNews, ACEH TAMIANG – Not only targeting impoverished families, Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) Langsa collaborated with the Aceh Tamiang Ulema Consultative Council (MPU), and MRI Aceh Tamiang to distribute staple foods to Muhammad Al Fatih Quran Center in Kenanga Hamlet, Sidodadi Village, Kejuruan Muda District, Aceh Tamiang Regency. This action was a part of Free Food Operation, which ACT echoes throughout Indonesia to solve food problems amid a pandemic.
"We chose Muhammad Al Fatih Quran Center because its location is far from the center of Aceh Tamiang city. It is 10 kilometers from the city center, and rarely known by many people," explained Rizal Fahmi from ACT Langsa Program team in early August.
20 students and teachers at Muhammad Al Fatih Quran Center became the beneficiaries of this food package. ACT also distributed food packages from Free Food Operation program to several foster mothers and underprivileged residents.
"We would like to say thanks to ACT Langsa, MRI, and MPU Aceh Tamiang, who have visited and shared with the Tahfiz students. Hopefully, this positive activity will continue," said Ustaz Abdussalam, Principle of Muhammad Al Fatih Quran Center.
Chairperson of MPU Aceh Tamiang Ustaz Syahrizal fully supports Free Food Operation initiated by ACT as a solution to food problems amid a prolonged pandemic. He hopes that Free Food Operation will be able to raise the spirit of Islam, especially the younger generation, to be able to take part in acts of kindness.
"Young generations need to be the pioneers of goodness and can continue to fight in the way of Allah," he hoped.
ACT also launched Free Food Operations for students in Solo Raya. The team visited Darul Batul At-Thohiroh Islamic boarding school. The provided food package was in the form of Waqf Rice which is a product of waqf fund management from Global Wakaf-ACT.
