ACTNews,  BEKASI REGENCY -- For the past three years, Riduan (45) has spent a lot of time at the Al Baqiatussolihat Mosque. He is now working as a mosque caretaker in Sindangmulya Village, Cibarusah District, Bekasi Regency.

Riduan used to be a dumpling vendor in Jakarta before becoming a Mosque caretaker. Unfortunately, Riduan was involved in an accident while selling three years ago. His body was even severely burned, and he had to be hospitalized for months.

Riduan was traumatized by peddling his sales around after returning from the hospital. He also lacked the capital to sell at the time. "I returned here (Bekasi Regency) after recuperating. Alhamdulillah, Allah entrusts me to become a mosque caretaker. The congregation here trusts me to look after the mosque," Riduan stated on Tuesday (1/4/2022).

Riduan did his best to live up to the trust. Riduan is not only a mosque caretaker, but he also serves as an imam at every opportunity to pray five times a day.

Riduan received a food package from Global Zakat-ACT. "Alhamdulillah, I am grateful for this help. I gladly accept it, and Insha Allah, Allah will reward Global Zakat-ACT and benefactors with goodness and double rewards," Riduan stated.

Riduan was one of ten mosque caretakers in Bekasi Regency to benefit from National Movement for Indonesian Preachers’ Prosperity program on that day. This movement aims to assist da'wah fighters, including the mosque caretaker. []
