Tanah Bumbu Residents Show Support for Palestine

Support for Palestine continues to flow from the Indonesian people. This time, support came from residents of Tanah Bumbu, South Kalimantan.

ACTNews, TANAH BUMBU – The Indonesians' concern for Palestine continues to flow. Recently, residents of Tanah Bumbu Regency, South Kalimantan, have been raising support for Palestine since mid-May 2021. The fundraising itself was carried out at several points, namely in Pagatan District, Batulicin District, Simpang Empat District, Angsana District, Sungai Loban District, and Satui District.

Volunteers from Masyarakat Relawan Indonesian (MRI) with organizations and communities in Tanah Bambu collected funds of IDR 251 million on Sunday (6/6/2021).

The donation was submitted to ACT South Kalimantan. The handover of the donation was held on Panggung Utama Pantai Pagatan, Tanah Bumbu Regency, Friday (6/25/2021). The Deputy Regent of Tanah Bumbu Muhammad Rusli, the Branch Manager of ACT South Kalimantan Zainal Arifin, MRI-ACT volunteers, and various communities and organizations from Tanah Bumbu Regency attended the event. This event received a good response.

Alhamdulillah, on June 6, 2021, the number of donations collected was up to IDR 251 million. Fifty communities in Tanah Bambu Regency participated in this solidarity action. Very extraordinary and beyond our expectations,” said the Head of MRI Tanah Bambu Regency, Anjar Sufangat.

Anjar added, some underprivileged people took part in this solidarity action. “The generosity came from various circles, including casual workers whose economy is currently being affected by the pandemic," he added.

The Deputy Regent of Tanah Bumbu Muhammad Rusli appreciated the volunteers of this solidarity action for Palestine in Tanah Bambu. He hopes that the results of the fundraising will be able to provide benefits for the Palestinians.

“On behalf of the local government, we thank all volunteers. This activity gives hope to many people to donate and help humanitarian affairs, especially in Palestine,” said Rusli.[]
