ACTNews, SUKABUMI REGENCY – Being a preacher has its challenges, especially the knowledge given in Islamic teachings. In addition to having to deliver the lesson, preachers must also exemplify the teachings of Islam in everyday life.
Ustaz Bambang Hidayat, a teacher at Madrasah Diniyah Assalam, Sekarwangi Village, Cibadak, Sukabumi Regency, is also doing this. However, Bambang never felt heavy about the task he carried out. He intends what he is doing to be part of worship.
"I consider teaching as worship that has good value. Hence, I did it with joy,” said Ustaz Bambang when met by the ACT Sukabumi Regency team, Friday (11/26/2021).
Usually, Ustaz Bambang teaches the first to fourth grade from 12.30 p.m. to 02.00 p.m and fifth and sixth grades from 02.00 p.m. to 03.30 p.m. Western Indonesia Time. Apart from being a teacher at school, Ustadz Bambang is also an Imam and a preacher at a mosque near his house.
At Madrasah Diniyah Assalam, Ustaz Bambang and his wife teach 120 elementary school-aged students. There is no tuition fee. According to Ustaz Bambang, most students are from middle to lower-economic families. For him, it is a joy and pride if there are children who want to learn the Quran.
“I believe Allah will give wealth that we never expected. I never worry about meeting the food needs and my children's school fees. Insha Allah, there is always a way to get a fortune,” he said.
To support Ustaz Bambang Hidayat's struggle, Global Zakat-ACT provided financial assistance and food packages. This assistance was ACT's support for the National Movement for Indonesian Preachers’ Prosperity.
