ACTNews, TEGAL – Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) Tegal held a Free Food Operation at the end of August. This time, the action was carried out by involving musicians who were affected by the pandemic. Karawitan (Javanese traditional music arts) artists members of Persatuan Pedalangan Indonesia (Pepadi) Tegal City received dozens of food packages.
We comply with emergency PPKM regulations, but what about the fate of the artists? During these two years, artists were not allowed to perform. We always find it burdensome because of activity restrictions,” said Tarmono, Pepadi Tegal.
Tarmono welcomed Free Food Operation by ACT for musical artists. The artists expressed their gratitude for the assistance. They have difficulty earning income amid a prolonged pandemic.
Free Food Operation is one of ACT's efforts to deal with the impact of the prolonged pandemic. Jaka from Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia (MRI) Tegal volunteer team says during the pandemic, there are indeed many restrictions on community activities, including performances. Thus, the act of kindness, supported by the benefactors, was well received by the artists.
“In the future, ACT will continue to distribute similar actions to the community. We will continue to distribute assistance from benefactors,” explained Jaka.
