ACTNews, JAKARTA – To the Muslim community, a mosque is not only a place for worship and praying in congregation but also a place for mutual prosperity. This is what was apparent when Aksi Cepat Tanggap distributed meal packages at the Istiqlal Mosque and Waqf Drinking Water to the Sunda Kelapa Grand Mosque on Friday (3/12/2021).
As stated by the Secretary of the Sunda Kelapa Mosque Board Chairman Ustaz Pangeran Arsyad Ihsan Nulhaqi, mosques can facilitate humanitarian actions, and the community can become the initiators of those humanitarian actions. For instance, the National Food Alms Movement, which was initiated by Aksi Cepat Tanggap, cooperates with mosques in distributing food. Ustaz Pangeran also welcomed the National Food Alms Movement which involved Sunda Kelapa mosque.
“Right now, without needing any survey nor tracking down, there are definitely many who are having difficulties. Some have had their income reduced by half, others have had lost their sources of income altogether. Hence, mutual cooperation is very good so that fellow Muslims lighten up each other's burdens. Sometimes poverty is also close to kufr (disbelief), "said Ustaz Pangeran.

The role of the generous in prospering mosques is also recognized by the Istiqlal Mosque Management Board. Head of General Affairs and Human Resources at Istiqlal Mosque, Lukman Hakim said, especially in the month of Ramadan, many mosque congregants find it easy to break the fast thanks to the role of the generous.
"At the Istiqlal Mosque, in previous years, around six to seven thousand people took part in the iftar feast. The food was also mostly from benefactors. Insha Allah, hopefully, the number can increase this year, "he hoped.
According to Lukman, food aid will be very useful in the month of Ramadan . He prayed that the spirit of generosity and mutual cooperation that was initiated through the National Food Alms Movement will continue.
“We are also grateful to all donors who have presented this ready-to-eat food. Hopefully, this is not the only one. We hope that it will be held every Friday or in any other day,” concluded Lukman.
