ACTNews, WEST KALIMANTAN — The floods that inundate 12 districts in Sintang Regency, West Kalimantan, affect the prices of several basic commodities. It is because road access cannot be passed due to the high level of water.

ACT West Kalimantan program team, Nircho Dwi Anggoro, explained that the prices of a number of food commodities have escalated.

“Basic necessities are still available at grocery shops and minimarkets although the price has increased,” said Nircho when contacted by ACTNews, Tuesday (11/9/2021).

Furthermore, there has been a scarcity of several staple commodities. If the situation continues for a long time, residents may not be able to fulfill their daily food needs.[]
