ACTNews, TANAH DATAR – Creating a
generation who memorize and learn the Qur'an steadfastly is not an easy matter.
Ustaz Akis Sugianto has to deal with
challenges when teaching his students to memorize the Qur’an.
With the advancement of technology come distractions that hamper
children’s learning process. "For children, cellphones do more harm than
good. My biggest challenge has been their habit of playing with cellphones
excessively. It hampers their Qur’an memorization,” said Ustaz Akis who teaches at Baiturrahim Quran Memorization School in
Tanah Datar Regency.
According to Ustaz Akis, it
is best to memorize and learn the Quran from an early age because it’s easier
to catch and remember at this age. "However, childhood is also a time when
they like to play, so they cannot be forced to continuously study and memorize
the Qur'an," said Ustaz Akis,
Saturday (8/14/2021).
To support Ustaz Akis’
struggle in teaching Quran memorization, Global Zakat-ACT provided financial
assistance on Saturday (8/14/2021). For the help he received, Ustaz Akis thanked Global Zakat- ACT. []
