The stabbing incident that happened a few months ago did not make him falter. Instead, his spirit becomes even stronger to preach Islam.

Ustaz Zaid was among the beneficiaries of ACT’s Sahabat Dai Indonesia program. (ACTNews).

ACTNews, SOUTHEAST ACEH – He was born Dedi Aspianto, but many people in Southeast Aceh know him as Ustaz Zaid Maulana, a Muslim preacher who works in the Southeast Aceh region. He always preaches messages of peace and the truth of Islam without fear despite several obstacles that he faces.

Zaid never forgets about the stabbing that happened to him at the end of October 2020. When he was preaching at Al Husna Mosque, Kandang Mbelang Mandiri Village, Lawe Bulan District, Southeast Aceh, he was attacked by someone carrying a sharp weapon. His neck and little finger were injured, and he was immediately rushed to the hospital.

"After that incident, my spirit to preach Islam became even stronger," he said when Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia (MRI) Southeast Aceh met him in early January 2020.

In addition to preaching in large Islamic gatherings, he is also a teacher at Darul Azhar Islamic Boarding School in Badar District, Southeast Aceh. He also teaches at local Quran schools. From teaching, he makes less than IDR 1 million. However, it was never a problem for Zaid because he has dedicated himself to educating the local children.

Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia (MRI) – Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) met Zaid on Friday (1/8/2021). This meeting aims to establish friendship with Muslim preachers in Southeast Aceh and deliver financial assistance from Global Zakat – ACT’s Sahabat Dai Indonesia program

"I am very happy that MRI-ACT visited my abode. May Allah always make our efforts easy," he prayed.

Sahabat Dai Indonesia is a program that aims to financially support Islamic preachers all around Indonesia initiated by Global Zakat – ACT.
