ACTNews, SEMARANG REGENCY – A
number of villages located in Bringin District in Semarang Regency have
experienced drought since early September, including Gogodalem Village.
Head of Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia Semarang Regency Elvan Ardi said
that since late August, the villagers have had difficulty finding water. The
drought also affects hamlets in Kedung Larang and Wiru villages.
"If the locals’ need for water is not fulfilled, the locals have
to go to the jungle to take a bath in Tuntang River. There is a Community-Based
Drinking Water and Sanitation Provision Program (Pamsimas) in these hamlets. During
the dry season, the water is often not enough for the locals, " said
Elvan.[]
