ACTNews, TRENGGALEK – Masyarakat Relawan Indonesia (MRI) Trenggalek and Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) Kediri inaugurated the Volunteer Food Stall program for Trenggalek area on Sunday (11/21/2021) in SDN 2 Dusun Gebang, Duren Village, Tugu Hamlet. A cheap bazaar was also carried out during the event for the surrounding residents. Volunteer Food Stall Trenggalek has a special vehicle to go around the town to assist people especially informal workers and underprivileged residents with free meal packages.

The program is initiated by volunteers in order to assist people amid the ongoing pandemic. Previously, the same program has been inaugurated in ACT Kediri Branch Office. Due to the high need for free meals and high enthusiasm from the residents, the Volunteer Food Stall program now has been expanded to Trenggalek.

Head of MRI Trenggalek, Arik says that Volunteer Food Stall is an effort by the volunteers to assist people affected by the pandemic. The program is expected to not only benefit people but also build up the spirit of helping each other.

“Sharing doesn’t only in the form of money but also through food sharing just like we do right now (Volunteer Food Stall),” said Arik.

Arik encourages people especially those in Trenggalek to take part in the act of kindness. Therefore, goodness can continue to ease the burden of underprivileged people amid the pandemic.[]
