BANGKA - During the blessed month of Ramadan, Muslims are encouraged to read
the Qur'an more. However, not everyone has proper Quran copies. At the hifz center at Pala Hamlet, Teluk Limau
Village, Parit Tiga, West Bangka, the students don’t have decent Quran copies
for them to read and learn the Quran.
Ustazah Rosmala,
one of the caretakers of the hifz center,
said that they had insufficient funds to buy new Quran copies for the students.
They have to rely on old Quran copies that have been quite unusable.
"Alhamdulillah,
before this, no one had sent new Quran copies to us. Thanks to the assistance
from Global Wakaf-ACT, it is easier for our children to learn the Qur'an,"
she said when Global Wakaf-ACT team visited the hifz school, Monday (3/29/2021).
Acting Branch
Manager of Global Wakaf - ACT Bangka Belitung Cherry Octoryan explained, 175
new Quran copies were handed out to the hifz
students. at Pala Hamlet has not been able to fully facilitate the local students
due to lack of funding.
"Children are
not charged a single rupiah. The hifz
center at Pala Hamlet has two teaching staff, namely Ustaz Saiful and Ustazah
Rosmala. These teachers teach voluntarily,” explained Cherry. The hifz center at Dusun Pala is located
near the Pala beach, The building of the school is decrepit and inadequate. []
