ACTNews, TASIKMALAYA REGENCY – Tasikmalaya is known as the Town of Santris especially before 1980s. At that time, a lot of Islamic boarding schools were spread in the entire town to spread Islamic knowledge. Until now, many boarding schools still exist in the city.
Asep Rosyidin from ACT Sukabumi Regency explained that many boarding schools in Tasikmalaya don’t have adequate facilities to support the education process such as the amount of Quran copies that is lesser than the number of santris while many of the available copies are in poor conditions. The situation indeed hinders santris who want to memorize and learn the Quran.
“The availability of proper Quran copies has eased the Quran memorizing process for santris. The title of Tasikmalaya as the Town of Santris must be perceived by improving the availability of Quran copies,” said Asep, Monday (11/15/2021).
One of the boarding schools that received Waqf Quran facility was Baitul Jadid Quranic Boarding School, Kupa Hamlet, Guranteng Village, Tasikmalaya Regency. Santris in Baitul Jadid Boarding School are taught to memorize the Quran or become hafidz.
“Alhamdulillah, a total of 50 Quran copies from the wakifs have been distributed to santris. Hopefully, it can motivate them to memorize the Quran enthusiastically,” Asep explained.
Ustaz Dadan, the principal of Baitul Jadid Boarding School thanked Global Wakaf for the entrusted Quran copies in his school. He hopes for the Waqf Quran to be our access to receive heaven from Allah.
“Alhamdulillah, thank you for your concern about our boarding school. Insha Allah, these Quran copies can be our access to receive heaven from Allah especially for the wakifs who have entrusted their waqf here,” said Ustaz Dadan.
