ACTNews, SOUTH TANGERANG - The National Movement for Food Alms Gathering (GNLSP) is entering its fourth week in Kampung Sawah Village, Ciputat, South Tangerang. The food gathering solidarity is spearheaded by the local women of RT 04 / RW 04 Kampung Sawah.
Maimunah, the wife of the head of RT 04 and the initiator of GNLSP in Kampung Sawah hoped that this effort will further encourage the residents to share in time of the coronavirus pandemic. Maimunah said, Aksi Cepat Tanggap Greater Tangerang came to set up the Food Alms Shelves "Hopefully, through this activity, we will always help those in need," said Maimunah.
Rodi Maryanto, ACT Greater Tangerang Program Coordinator, added that, on Friday (10/9) the volunteers and the women in RT 04/04 filled the Food Alms Shelves with basic supplies like rice, cooking oil, sugar, tempeh, eggs, drinking water, and vegetables.
"We hope that this movement can strengthen their independence and will be deep-rooted in the community. Those who have enough wealth can help the underprivileged and also foster generosity to help the surrounding community,” added Rodi.
This Friday, the National Movement for Food Alms Gathering is enlivened in several cities including Banjarmasin, Semarang, Bengkulu, and Samarinda.
