ACTNews, SLEMAN REGENCY – Global Wakaf-ACT continues to prepare Qurbani animals through the Waqf-based Livestock Barn (LTW) program so that the upcoming Qurbani celebration can benefit the community the most. Gondanglegi Hamlet, Kemput Village, Pakem District, Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta is home to one of these LTWs.

"Approximately 850 sheep consist of 700 sacrificed animals and 150 brooders. Insha Allah, there will be 100 sheep until the upcoming Eid, healthy and ready to be distributed throughout Yogyakarta and Central Java," On Wednesday (5/26/2022), Wahyu, manager of LTW Yogyakarta, stated.

The care and management of these sheep are becoming more stringent as Eid ul-Adha approaches. The Global Wakaf-ACT Team is working hard to prepare the best Qurbani animals for Generous Friends. Caretakers use complete animal feed in LTW Yogyakarta. It is a mixed foraged ingredient, agricultural waste, and concentrates.

Veterinarians constantly monitor livestock at LTW Yogyakarta to check the health and readiness of the sheep to be sacrificed. Doctor Waryoto was one of them. He also checked the quality of the Qurbani animals was adequate that day.

"I see that the sheep here are healthy. They are old enough (six months). Their eyes are clear. There is no runny nose or mouth. Their ears and feet are healthy, and their fur is smooth. Meaning that the quality is suitable for use as a Qurbani animal," explained Veterinarian Waryoto, who has been monitoring the health of sheep at LTW Yogyakarta.

Doctor Waryoto and his team also inspect and separate sick and healthy livestock regularly. Furthermore, he also gave antibiotics, vitamins, and special drugs to sick cattle.

"Alhamdulillah, even though Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) is currently affecting livestock, the animals from the Yogyakarta LTW are certain that the animals from the Yogyakarta LTW are FMD-free," Waryoto explained.

The seriousness of the Yogyakarta LTW management indicates that Global Wakaf-ACT is ready to prepare the community with the best Qurbani animals. The readiness of LTW Yogyakarta will support the distribution of Qurbani meat from Global Qurban-ACT in all areas of Yogyakarta, allowing people to get the best Qurbani meat. []
