Efforts to Help Sweet Potato Farmers

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the sweet potato farmers in Mojokerto Regency had suffered huge losses. They could not sell their harvest as tourism places and factories that buy their produce had closed. They waited five months only to sell the sweet potatoes for IDR 200 compared to the normal prices of IDR 1,000 to 1,500. Responding to this, Global Wakaf - ACT aims to support the potato farmers by buying 1,000 tons of sweet potatoes in February. This effort is synergistically linked to the Productive Food Waqf program. These sweet potatoes were then distributed to Islamic boarding schools in East Java.
